Brusilovsky Yevgeni Grigorievich(1905-1982) - composer, one of the founders of Kazakh musical art, People’s Artist of The Kaz.SSR, professor, USSR and Kaz.SSR State Prize. Graduated from Leningrad Conservatory in composition with professor M.O.Shteinberg. Brusilovsky devoted all his creativity to the study of Kazakh musical folklore. He wrote down the songs and kiuis of the eminent musicians - N.Bukeikhanov, L.Mu к hit о v , M.Bukeikhanov, I.Baizakov and others. He was the initiator of the first major Kazakh operas, symphonies, a cantata and oratorio, choral compositions. Brusilovsky is the author of the operas: «Kyz-Zhibek», «Zhalbyr», «Er-Targyn», the symphonies: «Saryarka», «Tselinnaya», «Kurmangazy» cantatas, suites, more than 50 songs and romances. The musical compositions of Brusilovsky are notable for figurative, picturesque melodies, in which his subtle creative perception of Kazakh melos in wide development and enrichment is shown.
