Mukhamedzhanov Sydyk - composer, honoured Art Worker of Kaz.SSR, People’s Artist of Kaz.SSR, State Prize-winner of Kaz.SSR. Born 1924 in Djezkazgan Region. Graduated from Almaty Kurmangazy State Conservatory, in the class of composition under Professor Ye.Brusilovsky. Major choral, vocal and symphonic works, poems and suites, chamber musical compositions, songs, theme music to plays and films. The operas «Aisulu», «Zhumbak kyz», «Akhan sere-Aktokti», the symphonies «The Voice of Ages», «Motherland of Joy» and concerts for different instruments were a significant contribution to the art of music. In whatever genre Mukhamedzhanov worked, the unchanging principles of his art were organically tied to folklore, supported by the lyric and epic traditions of Kazakh music.
