Mukhit (Mukhambetkerei) Meraliuly (1841-1918) -composer-kiuishi, dombra-player. Mukhit played dombra and sang songs at tois, great fairs, showing his bright performing skill. Mukhit with particular cordiality performed the kiuis by Yestai, Tazbala, Saulebai, G.Kurmangaliev, T.lbragimova, N.Abilova. Mukhit began to compose songs at an older age, and at once won the hearts of all people by his professionalism, dramatic qualities, passion and emotion. The composers of Kazakhstan widely use Mukhit’s compositions in their creative work: E.G. Brusilovsky - the songs: «Aluash» in the opera «Zhalbyr», «Ulken Oraz» - in the opera «Kyz Zhibek», «Dunye-ai» - in the opera «Er-Targyn»; B.Yerzakovich used Mukhit’s song «Ainamkoz» as the theme to his quartet for the strings, and the song «Zauresh» was used by L.Shargorodsky and S.Shabelsky for «Simfonietta».
