Rakhmadiev Erkegali - composer, People’s Artist of the USSR, State prizewinner of Kaz.SSR, Professor. Born in 1932 in Semipalatinsk Region. Graduated from Alma-Ata Conservatory in the composition class of Professor Ye.Brusilovsky. He became the father of the symphonic kiui genre, which was one of the specific              national peculiarities of Kazakh music. Its art method is based on the creative embodiment of national song-kiui material within the modern means of musical expression. One of the most attractive sides of Rakhmadiev composing talent is a touching lyricism, the ability to create melodies of wide panorama. Rakhmadiev’s creations: the operas «Kamar sulu», «Stepnoe zarevo (The Burning Steppe)», «Alpamys», the symphonic kiuis «Dairabai», «Kudasha-duman», the symphonic poems «Amangeldy», «Tolgau», the cantata «Aiastan», the chorus poem «Evening in Balkhash» have received acknowledgement in Kazakhstan and abroad.
