Abdulin Rishat (1916-1988) - singer (baritone). People’s Artist of the USSR, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan State prizewinner . Graduated from Alma-Ata Musical School (now Musical College) and the Kazakh Studio within the Moscow Conservatory (the class of A.I.Vishnevski). From 1939 he was a soloist of Abai Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. The vocal and stage images created by R. Abdullin entered the history of Kazakh opera art. His best opera roles were: Abai («Abai» by A.Zhubanov and L.Khamidi), Targyn («Er Targyn» by Ye.Brusilovsky), Onegin («Yevgeni Onegin» by P.I.Chaikovski), Jermon («Traviata» by Verdi). His song repertoire was also extensive and varied. He performed the songs of the various peoples living on the territory of Kazakhstan. He won love and respect among all Kazakhstani people.
