Yesimov Gafiz- singer (lyrical baritone), People’s Artist of Kaz.SSR. Born 1947 in Atyrau Region. Graduated from the vocals and choral faculty of Kurmangazy Alma-Ata State Conservatory. Since 1975 he has been a soloist at Abai Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. G.Yesimov is well known for the parts of Abai («Abai» by A.Zhubanov, L.Khamidi), Duman («Dudarai» by Ye.Brusilovsky), Alpamys («Alpamys» by ^м _ ^^^ E.Rakhmadiev), J 4 Kurmangazy («Kurmangazy»          by A.Zhubanov and G.Zhubanova), Jermon («Traviata» by Verdi) etc. He performs also Kazakh folk songs and romances by Kazakh composers. Yesimov’s creative work is notable for the culture, spirituality and a subtle lyricism, especially when performing Kazakh songs, bright melodiousness and artistic temperament.
