Eskalieva Nagima - variety singer. Honoured artist of Kazakhstan. Born 1954 in Alma-Ata Region. Finished the Republican School of Variety and Circus Arts (the vocal class of L.Kesoglu), Alma-Ata Musical School (Department of Choral Conducting). Connoisseurs of variety music have appreciated Eskalieva’s gift since 1979, after the All-Union competition «With Song through Life», where she first won acclaim. The singer has an expressive voice of rich timbre and great range, feels the style of variety music. In her repertoire are a variety of genres and trends. They are: Kazakh folk songs, songs of modern composers. «Salem sagan, tugan el» by K.Duisekeev, «Kunge tabynu» by S.Baiterekov etc. which are very popular among variety connoisseurs. In 1996 she founded the studio of variety art for the most gifted children of Kazakhstan.
