Zhubaturova Rakhima - singer (lyric-dramatic soprano), Peoples’ Artist of Kaz.SSR. Born 1943 in Andijan, Uzbek SSR. Graduated from Alma-Ata Conservatory (the class of Professor N.A.Sharipova). Soloist of the Abai Kazakh State Opera and Ballet Theatre. She played starring roles in the operas «Birzhan and Sara» by M.Tulebaev, «Er Targyn» by Ye.Brusilovsky, «Alpamys», «Kamar sulu» by E.Rakhmadiev, «Enlik-Kebek» by G.Zhubanova, «Tsarskaya nevesta» by N.A.Rimski-Korsakov, «Aida», «Bal-maskarad (Masquerade)»            by J.Verdi, «Toska», «Chio-Chio-San» by J.Puchini. Two of her roles were particularly successful: Chio-Chio-San and Sara. R. Zhubaturova also performs romances, folk and modern songs. Her performing skill reached the summit of the vocal art and won the connoisseurs of art through the charming beauty of her voice, by its cordiality and sincerity.
