Musabaev Murat(1937-1994) - singer, People’s Artist of the Republic Kazakhstan. Born in Karaganda. Graduated from the Vocal Department of Kurmangazy Almaty State Conservatory. From his student days he performed in the company of the Abai Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. Among the images he created, connoisseurs of vocal art remembered particularly -Targyn, Semen («Er-Targyn», «Dudarai» by Ye.Brusilovsky), Zhanbota («Birzhan-Sara»         by M.Tulebaev), Abai (in the same named opera by A.Zhubanov and L.Khamidi) among others. The art of M. Musabaev, the M.I.Glinka International Vocal Competition prizewinner, was notable for the ability of displaying thoughts and feelings of heroes perfectly and deeply in great stage culture. M.Musabaev was well known as concert performer. He skilfully performed  songs and ballads of Kazakh, Russian and foreign composers.
