State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic Kazakhstan - honoured body of Republic of Kazakhstan. Founded in 1958 as part of the Jambul Kazakh Philharmonic Society. Since 1983 an independent artistic body. The first performer of symphonic works of Kazakhstani composers: «Zhiger» by A.Zhubanov; the Seventh and Eighth symphonies by Ye.Brusilovsky, «Prazdnichnyi kiui», «Kudasha», «Dairabai» by E.Rakhmadiev and many others. The orchestra also performs symphonic classic compositions of foreign musical culture, for instance, fifteen symphonies of Shestakovich, and Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century music (Vivaldi, Korelli, Bach, Gendel) among others.Since 1987 T.Abdrashev, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan             State prizewinner, is the artistic director and the main conductor of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Kazakhstan.
