Nurkenova Asel - kobyz player. Born in 1979 in Akmola Region. Graduated from K.Baiseitova Republican Musical College in kobyz-prima. Now she is a student of Kurmangazy Almaty State Conservatory. Her performance is emotional, expressive and effective. She is First Prize winner of K.Baiseitova young musicians’ competition; Grand Prix holder of the Seventeenth Republican competition of young performers on folk instruments; First Prize winner of D.Nurpeisova Republican Competition; prize winner of A.Zhubanov Republican Festival; Grand Prix holder of Kurmangazy International Competition held in Astana in 1988.
