Muiz Syrnai is an antique mouth wind instrument. It is made of horn (muiz) with three holes. Muiz Syrnai had piercing sounds and it was used in marches as a command signal instrument.
Saz syrnai, Uskirike and Tastauyk. A special group of instruments made of clay are saz syrnai, uskirike and tastauyk. These instruments were small hollow clay vessels with from one to three holes. They had the shape of various birds, animals or simply an oval shape. The sound of the instruments was mellow, with distinctive hushing note. Clay instruments served as a toy, fun for children. Playing these instruments children imitated howling of the wind, voices of birds and animals.
